About Us

Allison Maryon Designs is what you could call an ‘accidental business’ that was started from humble beginnings during the Covid lockdowns in 2020/21.

Allison has stitched from childhood in some form or another. She will share more about this in the blog posts.

She first appeared on Sewing Street tv (Freeview 73, Sky 670, Virgin Media 754, YouTube) during lockdown as a demonstrator for their products.  It was then suggested she started producing her own patterns from her extensive back catalogue of makes for her family and friends.  A small Etsy shop carried her original Cross Back Apron pattern, that she hand drew for each order.  This was her first pattern produced in quantity for Sewing Street, obviously no longer hand drawn! And it became one of their best sellers.

As a lover of appliqué, Sewing Street produced several patterns for her shows, starting with a pair of Shadow Appliqué Cushions and her first home produced kit for an appliqué, kiss clasp ‘Doggy Walking Bag’ with its poo bag pocket.

She has an eclectic collection of simple to produce projects that have all been things that she has wanted to do for herself, family and friends.  If there is a shortcut, that produces a good result, she will pass it on.

Her physical, paper patterns are sold within the UK but the digital versions have been sold very successfully worldwide.

Allison is always contactable if anyone has a problem, or even just for a chat.  Her workshops at physical stores and sewing/craft shows are always well attended.  With help and guidance in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere.

Allison took on the organisation of her local Staffordshire Stitchers Sewcial (not for profit) sewing group when the lady who originally started it moved from the area.

She also ran a volunteer U3A Sewcial weekly Sewing Group but for her own sanity….something had to give and unfortunately it was this group.

Thank you for reading this far.  Allison will add. Blog posts when time allows, where she will share random information about herself, what she has been and will be up to in the future.
